An Introduction To Couponing – What you can expect

People make the decision to coupon for several reasons but for most people couponing is a great way to lower you bill at the grocery which can save you a ton of money.

Did you know that a July 2015 report by the U.S. Department of Agriculture stated that the average family of 4 with 2 school aged children can expect to spend over $1,000 a month just on food and groceries?

That’s crazy!! but if you think about it, it makes sense as it seems that the price of everything is going up latley, especially groceries.

Using coupons is a great way to cut the cost of your grocery bill and put a little of that money back into your pocket but most people do not know how to use coupons for maximum savings so they can pay a fraction of retail for all their groceries.

Sure its nice to go to your grocery and save a few bucks here and there when the coupons you have match up with the items you were already planning on buying but what if you knew how to plan your shopping trip, knew what items were on sale before you got to the store and only buy items you have coupons for.

Of course there are staple items that you will never find coupons for that you have to buy regardless of the price but if you could get all of the other items for cheap or even free, your basket of groceries could cost you pennies on the dollar from what you were paying before.

It should be noted that you will not be a power couponer overnight, in-fact your savings may even be minimal in the beginning but as your couponing skills become more well versed you will see your saving continue to grow.

Extreme couponing is a skill that you will learn overtime but my goal is to cut your learning time in half by showing you step by step what you need to be doing to get started couponing like the rockstar couponers you see on tv and online who have massive stockpiles of groceries they paid pennies for.

Speaking of stockpiles, once you start building your stockpile you will quickly realize that planning meals for the week will become much easier and less stressful than it is now because you will be able to plan your meals based on what you already have from your couponing efforts, and those midnight runs to the store for paper goods like toilet paper will be a thing of the past as your stockpile will most likely have all of these items in large quantities.

How To Get Started Couponing

Couponing has several other benefits besides just saving you money at the grocery store.

As you start to build you stockpile of items you will be better prepared should an emergency hit you as well as friends and family.

For instance, what is the first thing people do when the news shows there is a hurricane, snow storm or other weather related issue headed your way? They head to the grocery store and load up on items like water, paper products, batteries and canned foods.

You will already have all those items in large quantities in your stockpile so you won’t have to fight the crowds and possibly miss out on items you need to prepare your family.

More than likely you will have a friend, neighbor or family member who will not be as prepared as you are who you will be able to help out thanks to your couponing efforts.

There are many other benefits to couponing, what if your household income was cut due to losing a job, illness preventing you from working etc?

A well prepared couponer will have the items needed to get your family through weeks or even months until you can get back on your feet.

You can also help out those who are not as fortunate as you are buy donating a portion of your grocery hauls to charity, churches, shelters or food banks.
